In the traditional form of tutoring, students meet 1-on-1 wit their tutor for about an entire hour. If the tutor cannot stoop down to the level of the students and make an effort to connect with them, the tutoring session would soon morph into an expensive homework-helper session.

 

Social Tutoring is a unique social learning experience - In this setup, a group of about six-eight students meet together with a tutor. Students get to learn at their own collective pace, and learn from each others' questions too. The ideal tutor typically has had about 4-5 years of 1-on-1 tutoring experience and also has about 4-5 years of volunteer experience teaching in a local public school, with added emphasis on controlling the pace and discipline of the students in the tutoring session.

 

We have also found that students really enjoy solving problems on the white board. So students get their own whiteboards,  placed conveniently just behind their chairs. The classes are usually held in a convenient location, typically

 

 

 

 

We offer tutoring in Math, Physics and Chemistry in all flavors - regular, honors and AP.
